Arbor Day at Montie Beach Park

Montie Beach Park has been selected to be the recipient of the City of Houston’s 36th Annual Arbor Day tree plantings!

And, we need you to volunteer to help plant 750 trees along the paths and near the picnic areas on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Please email Steve Messa, Recreation Supervisor at the Montie Beach Park Community Center, if you are able to volunteer: steve.messa@houstontx.gov

Enjoy breakfast, while listening to remarks by Mayor Sylvester Turner and others.

TIME: Registration & Breakfast begins promptly at 10:15 am! Mayor’s program begins promptly at 11am. Planting begins immediately after!
BREAKFAST OFFERINGS: Breakfast Tacos, Donuts, Kolaches, and beverages will be served onsite, so bring your appetite!

For your convenience, I have attached the liability waiver that all volunteers will need to complete! Please arrive at the event with your waiver completed, in order to fast track registration!

GROUPS: Please gather your group and collect waivers in the parking area. The coordinator only should sign the group in. This will greatly increase traffic jams in the registration area!
INDIVIDUALS: Please turn in your waivers at the registration check-in table!

Work gloves and event giveaways will be distributed at check-in! We encourage rain boots, or footwear and clothing that you don’t mind getting a tad dirty! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning!

Later Event: February 3
